Canon EOS Rebel XSi
Rating:
Canon EOS Rebel XSi
Canon EOS rebel Xsi is now with 3" LCD with 230K pixels. The images look great due to the higher resolution of the sensor, however, there's a very slight delay when you zoom in to be 10x while the image loads and displays properly. Overall, the reviewers like this digital SLR camera with interface, quality, and pretty amazing battery. The camera is solid and nice in the hand – not too heavy to carry.
Nikon D40

Nikon D40
The Nikon D40 is cheaper than Canon Rebel Xti and D50. This unit is the smallest and lightest among all the Nikon DSLR with compact design and most of the important SLR features. Reviewers say it has no shutter lag which is the major advantage of a DSLR over a point and shoot camera. This user friendly camera comes with a 6 megapixel sensor, 2.5 LCD screen, USB2 port and AC input.
