I live at home with my parents, however I have my employer requires I have a home office. Can I use this as a tax write off? Also, I needed to buy a computer so I could do my work…could this be used as well? Thanks!

  1. yes but be forewarned it may cause an audit of your return. Your Office and computer cannot be used for any other purpose but work

  2. idk?

  3. Be prepared to show that you do not have access to a desk or computer at the main office, or live too far to drive to it on a daily basis. It would be best to have this in writing.

Note, it’s not your home and unless you are paying rent, you can’t write off something you don’t pay for.
